  • Headache
  • Low back pain
  • Weakness
  • Seizures/Epilepsy
  • Strokes
  • Memory Problem
  • ADHD
  • Autism
  • Muscle Disease
  • Alzheimer's disease/Dementia

  • NUMC is a Department of Health certified stroke center.

The department has the following clinical services:
    1. Inpatient consultation
    2. Outpatient consultations and continuing clinic visits. We have several clinics, including:
      • General Neurology Clinic
      • Seizure Clinic
      • Adult and Pediatric Neuromuscle Clinic
      • Pediatric Neurology Clinic
      • Child Developmental Neurology Clinic
    3. Neurodiagnostic Laboratories - we have three laboratories:
      • Electroencephalography (EEG) - equipped with short-term video if needed. This measures brain waves which is useful in diagnosing seizure and other forms of behavior.
      • Evoked potential - visual, auditory, and somatosensory. This helps in diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, hearing loss, and many other problems.
      • Electromyography and nerve conduction studies (EMG/NCV) - This helps to diagnose muscle and nerve problems.
    4. Private office consultation and visits
The Neurology Department is slowly growing and expanding. We are adding more faculty as well as electrodiagnostic testing. The department works in close collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry for the development of a memory center, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for traumatic brain injury, and Neurosurgery in affiliation with NSUH/LIJ for an epilepsy program and development of a neuroscience center.
