Theraputic Recreation
Recuperation from illness or injury requires good
medical care. It also requires a positive atmosphere
and attitude, especially for children. The Department
of Therapeutic Recreation organizes activities that
are therapeutic as well as just plain fun.
The specially trained staff of Certified Recreation
Therapists and Creative Arts Therapists utilize
a patient-centered approach to help improve functioning
and independence as well as reduce the effects of
illness or disability.
They work with child, adolescent and adult psychiatry
patients, as well as those in Physical Medicine
and Rehabilitation and Pediatrics.
