Prachi Anand MD is Chief of
Rheumatology and Associate Program Director in
Internal Medicine. After graduating from Medical
School in India in 1990, she completed a year
of Post-Graduate training in Dermatology in India.
In 1992 she immigrated to the United States and
joined the Internal Medicine Residency Program
at Nassau University Medical Center. Furthermore,
she advanced her career by joining the Fellowship
Program in Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology
at Winthrop University Hospital. She is a Board
Certified physician in both, Internal Medicine
and Rheumatology. Dr. Anand was nominated as a
Fellow to the American College of Physicians in
2000. She is Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine
at SUNY Stony Brook.
She has served as the Chief and Program Director
in Rheumatology since 1999 and Associate Program
Director of the Medical Residency Program since
2003.
Over the years Dr. Anand has given many Grand
Round Presentations, contributed to Text books
and Journals. Her areas of professional interest
and expertise are autoimmune disorders especially
Lupus and Graduate medical education.
