Welcome to Graduate Medical
Education (GME) at Nassau University Medical
Center (NUMC). We are a nationally accredited,
community teaching hospital in Nassau County,
Long Island. NUMC is ideally located-less than
30 miles to Manhattan, in close proximity to
Long Island's beaches, and easily accessible
to the thousands of Long Islanders whom we serve.
We are a 1,200-bed health care system, which
includes 530 tertiary care beds in the teaching
hospital, and a 589-bed skilled nursing facility.
These large facilities and sizeable teaching
faculty permit us to provide the highest standards
of quality in both education and patient care.
Our goal is to help our residents become mature,
competent, compassionate physicians.
Our residency programs are committed to clinical
excellence through training, research, and patient
services. The GME curriculum is designed to
be dynamic and responsive to each resident's
needs while supporting personal growth and autonomy.
We seek residents from all backgrounds who approach
training with enthusiasm and a dedication to
excellence. In turn, we are committed to providing
superb training for each of our residents in
a supportive and respectful atmosphere.
