In 1999, Mr. Suspenski became the Vice President for Support Services for the Nassau Health Care Corporation, responsible for all facility support and supply chain functions including engineering, and maintenance, purchasing, stores and inventory, housekeeping, food and nutrition, safety and security, central sterile, medical electronics, mailroom and print shop.
As a member of the NHCC Corporate Management team, Mr. Suspenski, has successfully reduced overall system wide expenses while maintaining quality service. He has been responsible for numerous initiatives to improve service, consolidate staff and provide better overall facilities and services in support areas. He has established close management relationship between hospital and nursing home, consolidating staff and contracts.
Mr. Suspenski initiated campus wide security improvements to improve patient, staff and visitor safety. He has also been responsible for numerous capital projects including renovation of the Emergency Department triage and waiting area, the construction of the Medical Pavilion as well as other in-house facility improvements.
Prior to becoming the Vice President for Support Services at the NHCC in 1999, Mr. Suspenski had served at Nassau University Medical Center in various progressive managerial positions since he began his career with the hospital in 1990. These include Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer, Administrator of Emergency Medicine, Director of Emergency Preparedness, Director of Special Projects, and Director of Planning.
Mr. Suspenski obtained his Bachelor of Sciences and Master in Public Health Care Administration from Long Island University in 1992. A licensed nursing home administrator, Mr. Suspenski has lectured extensively on healthcare administration and has taught as an adjunct professor in health care and public administration at Long Island University. He is active in several professional associations including the Metropolitan Health Administrators Association and the American College of Health Care Administrators.
