Anesthesia Services
The Department of Anesthesiology at Nassau University
Medical Center provides care for the full spectrum
of surgical, obstetrical and other invasive
procedures. The highly qualified anesthesiologists
include individuals with special competence
in pain management and pediatric anesthesiology.
They are supported by excellent up-to-date equipment
and ancillary staff. A fully accredited residency
program in anesthesiology exists within the
department and further adds to the high quality
of care.
Preoperative patients are seen by the department
to optimally prepare them for surgery. Patients
with questions about their surgery are encouraged
to call the department.
The Anesthesiology Pain Service cares for patients
with a wide variety of painful conditions. Individuals
with chronic problems need to be referred by
a physician caring for them. These patients
may call for further information. This Service
also provides care for patients with acute pain
problems such as patients in the hospital with
pain after an injury or surgery.
