Welcome

It is our pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at Nassau University Medical Center.

Our department has a rich heritage of resident education as well as community service. Our faculty members are dedicated to the educational mission of the residency program. Subspecialist divisions include Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Gynecology Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Urogynecology and Gynecologic Laparoscopy. There is also an experienced cadre of full-time generalists in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and many voluntary staff members, who have a strong interest in resident education and research.

Resident education is characterized by formal teaching, direct clinical supervision, and graduated patient responsibility. There is a broad exposure to basic obstetrics and gynecology, all of the subspecialties, excellent clinical and surgical volume, and a strong emphasis on the ambulatory health care of women. Residents participate in the care of all patients with the goal of becoming competent as well as sensitive health care providers.

We encourage you to tour our website and become familiar with the exceptional educational opportunities available within our program.
